Membership
Membership of the Society shall be open to all those who have acquired a recognized qualification in Cardiac, Cardiothoracic, Cardiovascular Surgery and Cardiology or are engaged in the practice of research pertaining to Coronary Artery Disease (Coronary Surgery, Percutaneous Coronary Interventions) for at least 5 years after having acquired a recognized qualification in surgery.
Membership Fee & Bank Details:
The Committee has decided the amount to be ₹ 10,000/- (Initiation Fee ₹ 5,000/- and Annual Fee ₹ 5,000/-)

Statutory requirements for Membership
- Membership will be given to the surgeons who are academically interested.
- All the members need to share the data on coronary surgery
- The membership will be renewed every year based on their participation in sharing the data
There shall be the following classes of members :-
Active Member
An active member of the Society in good standing for at least 5 years after having acquired a recognized qualification in surgery
Senior Member
An active member of the Society in good standing automatically advance to senior Membership at the age of sixty – five years or upon request after the age of sixty.
Honorary Member
Honorary membership shall be reserved for senior overseas members who have completed 10 years and such distinguished persons as may be deemed worthy of the Honorary Membership.
Associate Member
An Associate Member must be a one of the following :-
- A Cardiac Surgeon who is a qualified physician and have achieved distinction in the field of Coronary Surgery and involved in Coronary Surgery practice with less than 5yrs of experience or shall have made a meritorious contribution to knowledge pertaining to coronary artery disease or its surgical treatment.
- A Cardiologist who is a qualified physician and have achieved distinction in the field of Cardiology with less than 5yrs of experience involved in treating coronary artery diseases or shall have made a meritorious contribution to knowledge pertaining to coronary artery disease or its surgical treatment.
- An Anesthetist who is a qualified physician and have achieved distinction in the field of Anesthesia with less than 5yrs of experience involved in treating coronary artery diseases or shall have made a meritorious contribution to knowledge pertaining to Anesthesia in Coronary Surgery and its surgical treatment.
There shall be no numerical limit to the Membership under any of the class cited above.
Fellowships will be given to the Active Members and Honorary Members who have completed 5 years of Membership and in good standing and these are referred to as Full Members of the Society.
Fellows and Active Members other than residing abroad shall be referred to as “Full Members” of Society or Association.
Proposals for Membership and Associate Membership other than Senior Member or Honorary Fellows shall be made on official forms supplied for the purpose. Every proposal shall be signed by at least one full member of the Society and forwarded to the secretary who shall place it to the Executive Committee for consideration.
The Executive Committee may in their discretion and without assigning any reason therefore decline or refuse to elect any person or persons to any of the categories of Membership.
Election of an Active member and Associate Member shall ordinarily be ratified by a simple majority of the General Body of the Society at the Annual General Body Meeting.
The decision of the Executive Committee with regard to the election for Honorary Fellow shall be final.
At the time of submission of the application for membership an initial fee shall be paid by an Active Member and Associate Member. Fifty percent of the initiation fee shall be considered as the Membership subscription for current year and other fifty percent shall be audited to the consolidated fund of the Society provided that in the event of the application for the Membership unsuccessful, the initiation fee shall not be refunded and instead all of it shall be credited to the consolidated fund of the Society.
The Annual subscription for an Active Member, Associate Anesthetist and Senior Member shall fall due on the 1st Jan each year and is payable in advance.
Privileges of Membership
The Full Members of the Society shall have the privilege of participating in all activities of the Society including right to attend the General Body Meeting, the right to vote, the right to take part in the elections to the Executive Committee of Society and shall have the privilege of participating in the scientific meetings and social events, education programs organized by the Society after paying the requisite fees.
All the 4 categories of Membership of the Society receive a copy of Journal for subsidized price as and when it is published.
Any person who ceases to be a Member of the Society from any cause whatsoever, shall immediately effective and concerned person shall no longer enjoy any privileges of the Membership including right to use the abbreviate FSCS after his name.
All the properties and funds of the Society shall belong to the Society collectively and no individual fellow shall have any property right over any of the said properties or funds.
Termination of Membership
Membership is terminated if:
- The Member dies
- The Member resigns by written notice to the Membership Committee
- Any subscription due from the Member is not paid in full within two years of it falling due.
- Not attending the three consecutive Annual Conferences
- Not participating in the coronary surgery registry.
